elson david is the joint venture of londons duct and owen howells, two of shades of grey recordings co-founders. their first ep, a three-tracker of techy, acid-laced house with tongue-in-cheek nods to uk raving past and present is released on 21st january 2013. the collaboration was born of their shared love of acid house and rave culture, and the desire to do something a bit different to their solo work. both bring considerable talents to bear, ducts classical training and detailed craftsmanship, and owens idiosyncratic grooves and dancefloor focus combine in unexpected ways to produce something that sounds like neither and both.
>the real me< is a collaboration between deeper shades recordings artists salvatore agrosi (coming of the very successful spirit ep) from italy and florida based vocalist dennis baker (featured on the >hypnotize you< releases). the four remixes selected for this 12 inch are ranging from a driving and bass heavy peak time dub by label head lars behrenroth (which btw. has been one of lars secret weapons and created a lot of anticipation for this release) via salvatores stripped down interpretation as his alter ego toto to an emotionally charged atmospheric builder by marco fracasso.
taken from their award winning album >fabrics of the heart<, the soulful duo liquideep returns with another sizzler - >feel it< remixes.
featuring their favorite and europes finest djs & producers stimming (germany), shur-i-kan (uk) and andre lodemann (germany) dishing out hot remixes for your pleasure.
the slat blinds in berlins panorama bar are part of the vjs equipment, and when the mood is right (usually around sunday afternoon),he opens them up to allow slices of sunshine to penetrate the smoky club air.it doesnt happen all too often, remaining something special amongst hours of darkness.but as ruede played the first version of shades in his last p-bar set, it seemed to happen just for him, as if he had written this tracks distinct break especially for this moment:everyone was mesmerized. re.you & rampa with a rmx for shades are also no strangers to such euphoria, and as ruede recently lent them his voice, they return the favor by building a robust, custom-made bass mobile for the a2.then, on the b-side, ruedes fellow band members from the noblettes make an appearance.as with shades, the focal point is also the big break, only this one has nothing to do with techno - its more of an indie-house ballad with dance ambition.
chicagos four play music brought this ep that features some of the citys deep house producers. seraphine & b.fords deep brown eyes and naked souls garden of trees takes on the a-side while the flip holds caught the feeling by label boss andrew emil.

taken from trentemøllers new full-length album, ‚into the great wide yonder, a stunning achievement in modern production and cinematic songwriting, >shades of marble< has been reworked by the man himself, along rising artists kink and kasper bjørke. trentemøllers dramatic, edgy and daring remix of his own string drenched opus is nothing short of breathtaking. leaning towards dancefloors with an appreciation for epic qualities, this expertly constructed re-think will surely be heard well into the festival season. the inimitable man from sofia, kink rises to the challenge of remixing shades of marble and does so heroically. the pleasing result is a tough, chicago meets berlin jack-jam that leads to tripped out and freaky moments in the break, until his trademark drum machines do the rest! finally another bright star of the danish scene, kasper bjørke, has his say with his deeper and more low slung remix that leads the listening into satisfying late night realms. full of funk and melancholy, this is a welcome treat for fans of bjørkes characteristic productions.

on their introductory minus ep, click box offers a refreshing return to a bygone era of classic instrumentals, full of experimentation and passion generated by that ongoing love affair between man and machine. berlin shades starts out in a jittery minimal fashion but soon dives much deeper as the tough electro bassline expands and contracts dragging the dancer to and fro. the cascading hook and in-your-face sci-fi synth motif add a sense of tongue-in-cheek drama to a dynamic arrangement that incorporates steep inclines, sharp drops and snaking pathways. as the short staccato bass riff gains momentum and the hook comes round for the second time you just know somethings lying in wait and the boys certainly dont disappoint. lost road is anything but a blind alley, kicking off with some low-slung interplay between a two-note bassline and a whiplash snare that dishes out a serious spanking. hi-hats fizz across the audio spectrum, cleverly pitching up and down before a drunken bass sequence ushers in the main section with its sliding, twisted synth distortions primed for surprise and immediate disorientation. once all the elements are in play, the fun really starts with so many objects of interest competing for attention. the arrangement is pulled and pushed to great effect extracting maximum effect from this tough little unit. more electro flavour to the fore as the loose, broken beat intro and robot sounds of some toys make for some slick moves on the dancefloor. the retro synth riffs and dark spiralling pads conjure up images of some early 80s lab full of computer kids in white coats twiddling knobs on huge mainframe monoliths. the bouncing bass and analogue belches make this a must for all retro-tastic electro-boogie fans. the theme continues over into voxer as rising filtered bass tones playout over another trademark click box drum pattern, this time doused in heavy reverb and delay. an array of analogue bleeps, screams and laser beams keep the motor ticking over.

after the huge >score for direction< success with label owner pär grindvik stockholm ltd presents a new swedish talent for the world. simon haydo is a really close friend of pär grindvik and the stockholm ltd family. for several years, simon has been playing records among the high end clubs in his hometown of stockholm, sweden. a while ago he finally got himself some studio equipment and has been asking for production tips from time to time, but when we received his demo we realized that he didnt really needed them. simon knocked us right out of our chairs! we rarely get demos this emotional and we didnt know that simon would pass us one as we had not heard a bleep of his music until that day. most of the demos you get are from people trying to sound like someone else, but simon has a sound of his own. we are really proud to have simon haydo joining the label and his first record >different shades of white< will follow us forever! >different shades of white< has got great support all over the world and will be released on stockholm ltd, watch out!
